Meet Dena
Have you ever wondered: What does my local congressman even do? What are my taxes actually being spent on? And most importantly, how do these things affect me?
If you find yourself asking these questions, you are not alone. I, like many Americans, ask these same questions. Our government has seemingly cloaked itself in a veil of secrecy. Very few people truly know or understand what our leaders in Congress are doing on a daily basis. As a result, many Americans have become apathetic about voting and disengaged from politics.
I am Dena Maldonado, and I’m running for Congress in District 14. I was born and raised in California. Today, I run my own small floral business. When costs go up or the economy slows down, I don’t hear about it—I live it.
I’m direct, I’m honest, and I don’t rely on scripted talking points. I believe in personal responsibility, accountability, and telling the truth—even when it’s unpopular.
I believe in putting America first—always. I also believe in securing our border, cutting wasteful spending, and getting government out of the way of working people and small businesses.
I’m not a career politician, and I am not interested in climbing any political ladder. I don’t have a polished political résumé or a cushy white-collar title. Most importantly, I don’t owe anything to political institutions, wealthy donors, or foreign nations.
I’m here to represent the people of District 14 honestly and transparently—and when that job is done, go back to my life. It’s time for transparency, real accountability, and leadership that protects taxpayers, lowers costs, and serves our community first.
That is why I have decided to run for Congress.
